Big D is Back - sort of

Starting yesterday Rob Ray "the Music Professor" brought 50's and 60's top-40 music back to WDRC 1360 and its sister stations 610 Torrington, 1240 Waterbury, and 1270 Meriden. A number of old jingles were played and also I heard a nice aircheck of Ron Landry, who had been my favorite DJ. The show will run 6:00am - 10:00am on Saturdays and Sundays. Hope this works out and expands.
A very nicely done show - excellent work Rob - good to hear you again!
And thank you Connoisseur Media for doing this.

For all the grief they've taken over the demise of the old DRC-FM as an oldies/classic hits station, they've shown more than a little class in retaining -- and refreshing -- the HD2 oldies stream and, now, for setting aside eight hours on the AM for oldies. The 60- and 70-somethings who are the likely audience for Rob's show might even pull the age of the average WDRC(AM) listener down a bit! Of course, these hours are very light on listeners to begin with, and of no real interest to advertisers.
