Big Dan has paid his dues in life. He has a right to curse all he wants. (and can't Disney afford a decent delay system? or people who know how to use a delay?)
 
Maybe new WABC owner Citadel will install and operate ---a better delay.
 
WABC does use a state-of-the-art delay. What nobody heard (outside of the studio) was that the board op dumped a caller about 5 seconds before Dan let the F-Bomb fly.The system never had time to build the delay back up
 
seems Dan cursed twice within a few seconds. Am I to understand there's no delay system that could handle this? I find that very hard to believe! I suppose if it had been a caller other than Dan--- the caller would be both bleeped and removed from the air at once---- eliminating the chance of other cursing getting past the delay. (during delay buffering recovery) I see Dan has apologized. Nice gesture. One question---do both the ABC host and board op have a dump button?

I just listened to the replay of it, and only heard him curse once. I had to replay it twice because the first time I wasn't so sure he said it. How many people really noticed?Dan is a legend, and this faux pas- which we ALL might do at least once in our radio careers- does not diminish my love for him!Long live Music Radio 77 WABC!
 
i heard him say it (the F word!!!) from another room, and convinced myself that I mis heard what he said, that it couldn't possibly have happened, so I never posted anything about it...and THEN saw the newspapers today!
 
Dan had nothing to apologize for...such a big deal over nothing on a station that makes its money spewing hateful bs daily...
 
great promo for REWOUND,huh?...I mean that seriously...this item was EVERYWHERE,and drew an amazing amount of attention to REWOUND..maybe Karl Rove is doing pr for WABC these days, with his famous 'staged' events...
