Big Ed or Special Ed?

Baloney had an interesting link to Ed Schultz' website, where he lays into Madame Hillary pretty hard. Apparently, he thinks she is dodging him and his staff and serving him disprespect.

http://www.bigeddieradio.com/

Big Ed opined :reaching over 2.5 million listeners who are engaged in changing the country I believe qualifies us for some attention. I realize Hillary is an international figure and star but this pattern of treatment to The Ed Schultz Show has been an on-going pattern which tells me all they care about is her mug on TV.

The conservatives have done wonders with audio continually talking to and solidifying their base. It's apparent to me radio is minor to the people surrounding this leading candidate.

Which leads me to this question : why would Hillary NOT make use of Libtalk outlets? Is there any reason that she would not try to get a little free press, here? This does not make sense.

Schultz is more angry at her handlers, not so much her. She's been on his show a few times before, as recently as last month. She's also been on Franken a few times.

For some reason, they like to book her on TV news shows. They also like to position her on more mainstream outlets, perhaps because she's a bit more of a moderate establishment figure. She's not well liked by the left.

Ironic, since Schultz' show is aimed pretty heavily at middle of the road listeners. It seems like just about every Democrat in Washington has appeared on his show, most notably Barack Obama, who's been on quite frequently as of late. I actually think Obama has a better chance than Clinton in the presidential sweepstakes. He's utilizing the media very well (was recently on Oprah) and comes across well on broadcast outlets. Hillary's just doing the same ol' CNN circuit, trying to appeal to news wonks.

Screech, as usual, blew it out of proportion on his blog. But are we really surprised?

 As Big as Big Eddie thinks his huge national radio show is, it's still a minor voice for the big mega audience Hillary usually commands.
We know Eddie is on the DNC do call list, but his soppy love fest of Obhama doesn't help if he ever wants to be on the Hillary do call list....... :-*

hmmm, FI, that doesn't sound right. Did YOU read his Ed-itorial?

"When Wendy and I see Hillary from time to time she is more than respectful, likeable, and seemingly interested in how we are doing. But when it comes to supplying any workable connection to helping progressive talk it all falls short.

Forgive me, but it sounds like you are covering for Ed and Hillary. Read it again, and get back to us, because it sure sounds like he is p.o.'d at her.

I'm shocked, shocked that a guy that posts a libtalk site isn't all over this. You should have broken this story, not screech. If you did before he did, my apologies.

If Limbaugh wrote something similar about Cheney or Bush being unaccessible, using the language Schultz used, it would be a major story.

Could it be that the best hope for your next election feels lib/prog talk radio is a failure, and thus not worth the time? If that's the case, that's gotta sting ;)

I'm covering for nobody. And I could care less about Hillary Clinton. Quite frankly, I don't much care for her.

Here's what I read, straight from Schultz' site:

Many of you have requested hearing from Hillary on progressive talk especially The Ed Schultz Show. I want you to know our producer James Holm tirelessly works the contacts and has repeatedly tried to connect with Clinton's people.

Cutting to the chase, Hillary's people treat us like dirt. We are constantly disregarded, told things that aren't true, and given speculation an interview might happen someday.

Nothing new here. Even during Bill's administration, hosts complained about the innaccessibility of administration officials for talk shows. That includes liberal Tom Leykis when he was doing political talk.
