Big Ed Schultz bumped from XM?

http://www.xmradio.com/lineup/

Randi Rhodes
Candid and unflinching with a lightening fast wit, Randi Rhodes will be live with her full show each weekday from 3PM - 7PM ET on
Air America Radio - XM 167.

Or maybe he will be tape delay or do you think XM will move Ed to a different channel?

Ed will be elsewhere, since 167 is ALL Air America. Ed is not an AAR show, so he gets bumped.

And, no, this is not a neo-con conspiracy. Though Radio Equalizer is on the story as we speak...

All AAR, All The Time

Apparently, elsewhere for Ed is Sirius. XM got an exclusive deal cutting both ways: Sirius loses AAR and XM dumps non-AAR progressive talk on the channel so AAR gets the channel full time.

Since XM Radio does not have a "left" channel (other than AAR), it looks like Ed (as well as Stephanie, Thom, Bill, etc) are out in the cold. This is in contrast to Sirius which before this deal went through had a full time AAR channel and a second channel for other progressive talk programming.

Once again, the two satellite radio companies keep shooting themselves in the foot in their race to keep "exclusive content" from each other. Since talk and sports listensers can only get some things they want on XM and some things they want Sirius, they will wait. Not a problem for people who get satellite radio for the music channels, but talk and sports (baseball on one service, football on the other) fans get screwed.

It's about time. Many of us are not interested in The Tool from North Dakota. One down, one major problem left - the crazy, mixed up world of Alan Colmes.

Amen to that. I'm waiting for the inevitable merger.

I'd have to agree, a merger would bring so many good resources together. Better would be to have technology that is easy to use with the vendor of choice..but I know im just dreaming on that one :)

on the deal itself, AAR didn't just get an exclusive spot on a channel, they also got access to a Washington Radio Studio designated for AAR use when they need to...I don't know the quality of the studio, but was it worth it to screw AAR Sirius listeners?
