"Big Fan"

I saw a movie the other day named Big Fan. It's about a total loser who spends his day writing out his calls to a sports radio station. It stars Patton Oswalt(Spence on KIng of Queens) and he's perfect for the part.

I couldn't help but think that this is probably a very accurate portrayal of many of WEEI's callers. Joey from the North End, Danny from Quincy, Steve from Fall River, and a couple of others immediately spring to mind.

I've heard that only a very small percentage of listeners actually ever call. Does anyone know what that percentage might be? I've only known one person who I knew to be a regular caller and he fit the profile to a T.

I think 'BZ hosts have quoted a 3% figure. So if they had 10k listeners at a given time, maybe 300 would be willing to call if the mood strikes.
Don't think I've called a show in 12 years or so. I would never call during the day. Guys I've never called and regret it: Bruds, Meade, Avi, Burns. I did call the Dean once. Norm Nathan a few times.

If I hear a regular I hit the preset fast. Is Jon from Med banned: haven't heard him in months?

They made a movie based on The Jim Rome Show?
