Big Flip at Emmis!!!!

My sources from inside Emmis have told me that earlier this week they flipped all their vending machines and went with a whole new line of food items!

[Writing on Internet chalkboard]

I will not start a list of similarities between vending machine food and Radio DJ's.

Old snacks or new, knowing Emmis, it will still be stale.

Okay, this is unconfirmed but at the same time reliable so take information with a grain of salt. But I have it on semi-reliable sources who knows somebody that is good friends with a person inside Emmis. This person was sitting at a local watering hole and after his fourth double Chivas Regal confided in my friend the new manager is from the westside of Evansville and loves Double Cola. Because of that the drink machine will now only offer Double Cola.

Again, this is an unconfirmed rumor but may be taken as fact. Double Cola will be in the vending machines at Emmis Indianapolis starting Monday.

People, let's be serious for a minute. Emmis's vending machines can never reach a young audience if they don't have red bull in 1A. The time for Mt. Dew has long passed.

I am here to confirm that YES! The new vending machines at Emmis are FANTASTIC!

Yes, the World's Incredibly Best Coffee has already made the switch from AM (Almond Mocha) to FM (Fudge Mocha). Sorry.

So, Rayne, are you sending out your demo and resume?

This may be the funniest post I've read here.

On a related note, program directors are now hired on the basis of their skills at dislodging food items hung up on the little round wire thing.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Remember back when PD's were hired based on their programming qualities? Or bedroom experience?

(regarding my latter comment, please think Dr. Ruth, not Martha Stewart or IKEA.)

I really miss the cheese curls and the cream cheese danishes. I really hope that there is at least something in the new machines that will clog my arteries.

You young whipper snappers have no idea of how it was. I remember when vending machines didn't have a dollar bill changer. There is nothing worse than being stuck in a radio station by yourself on a six hour shift with nothing but dollar bills and a refrigerator full of past due food.

you worked at a radio station and had a dollar wow !
In my day we had to just eat the "Andy Cap" pub fries from the honor system snack box

I can neither confirm or deny, but I have heard that the ho-hos are being replaced with mixed nuts.

Wow, Emmis waited until now to get rid of ho-hos? [insert incredibly witty Don Imus comment here]. I guess Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera waited to dump theirs till now too.
