But on one hand we've got an anonomyous WATB who thinks they suck, and on the other hand we have 10's of thousands of listeners who listen to them on a regular basis. But that's where you're wrong. You can always convince people with well thought out, intelligent arguments. For example, I could give you MY reasons why I think they're less interesting than they used to be. But I'm not the one on here saying 'they suck'.
And I'm reminded of the joke about the dude trying to outrun a bear. When told byhis friend they can't outrun a bear, the guy points out he doesn't have to outrun the bear, he just needs to outrun his friend...
The hardline may suck. But they suck less (a lot less) than Galloway and Gavin and Greg. (Or the G-bag nation, or whatever they're calling themselves these days)...
And the ratings reflect that-

I think you misunderstand my posting. I was actually agreeing with your point that "they suck" is vacuous. I was merely attempting to restate and "defend" it in a humorous sort of way. I guess the joke simply did not come through and thus fell flat. (And I have zero opinion personally about whether they do or do not suck as I have no interest at all in sports or sports talk and have thus never listened.).

I wonder why Cumulus just doesn't have KTLT simulcast KTCK full-time (just plugging in local ads). With ESPN, it will be forced to carry Mike & Mike, as all ESPN Radio stations have to. Surely a simulcast of the Courage Boys would do better there (I would assume it is safe to say people in Abilene would rather here talk about the Cowboys/Rangers/Mavs/Stars than whatever the national feed of ESPN is doing just as they do here). Likewise, they could export the Stars games since radio coverage there was lost with the move off WBAP.
Has anybody sniffed this out yet?
