Big Jay Sorensen will be doing SIX days of fill-ins for Dan Taylor (6 to 10AM for the few that don't know) on WCBS-FM starting on Frijay, April 10 going through Frijay, April 17 - and the station is on line at www.wcbsfm.com - so NO EXCUSES FOR MISSING OUT ON BIG JAY!! :)

STAY BIG!

Congratulations to Jay

Sure, Dan is his friend from the Time Machinre days at WNBC, that's how he got the gig. Guess I won't be listening. Jay's Ego is to big for me. Dan don't stay on vacation to long.

Stay Small ;D

Clearly YOUR LIFE is being on EVERY Board and more times than not it's YOU!! Do you still camp out on the phone ALL DAY bothering jocks at ALL metropolitan stations?? WHERE DO YOU FIND THE TIME??

I guess those who can't, stalk or take on groupie status... you have quite a reputation dear!

( aka P.I.T.A)

;D

:-*

PS- I would have to agree with Deeman... Jay's ego is the SOLE reason he has no steady gig. Talk about burning bridges...

Big Jay = Big ego! Hope he can fit his head through the CBS-FM studio door. This guy has been resting on his time machine days on wnbc. Those are many many miles ago in the rear view mirror. Time to move on! ;D

Big Jay will be a good substitute for actually having someone relevant with talent.

i've listened and i'm not sure WHAT dan taylor does? am i missing something?

No you're not missing anything. CBS-FM ain't what it used to be.
dan taylor in terms of personality is "white bread", they need more personalities like Bob Shannon- or dare i say, someone from outside the apple core to shake things up? cbs-fm is an "average" classic hits station, that just so happens to be in the #1 market in America(they should be better than average) the "Original" cbs-fm in terms of personalities was much better. having said that, i do NOT have a problem with the musical direction of cbs-fm, the music is right on for the format now.

Unfortunately personalities are a thing of the past. They like to be paid.

Sorry but I think this is a disgusting insult to the other core members of their team. I'm sure Sorenson is a fine talent and all that, but it certainly seems like Brian Thomas could easily have tapped one of his all-stars to sit in for Taylor. Last time Taylor took off his substitute was Pat St. John. It strikes me as offensive that St. John was not recruited to sit in for the vacationing Taylor. In the alternative they easily could have tapped the equally talented Rick Stacey. Since they have St. John and Stacey on staff it seems weird that they would bring in Sorenson for the gig.

Didn't somebody mention that Taylor & Sorensen were friends?
Your point is well taken why not use a member of the staff.

I think R&R reported a while back that Jay was officially hired by CBS to do fill-ins. Considering how much experience he has doing morning shows, I think this is a good call - and besides, what's wrong with a change of pace? Not that there would be anything wrong with Pat St. John or Rick Stacy hosting, of course.
