Big Joe Henry Rips Oprah's New Show

Big Joe -- the new Limbaugh?

The man's an oldies nut who continues to play 60's music long after it's been phased out. Wonder if Millennium Radio has called him on the carpet.

Then again the Jersey Guys have lapsed into Bill O'Reilly wannabes of late.

I don't hear much 60's on Big Joe's show and he doesn't sound like a nut. Big Joe should be commended for all his charity work and service to NJ.

You are absolutely right. The 70's and 80's are what make up most of Big Joe's shows with some '60's sprinkled in here and there. Big Joe is a big name in New Jersey. He always says that his is the "most listened to weekend radio program in the state of New Jersey." Big Joe may love the oldies and host some 50's oldies shows, but by listening to his show, it's not that obvious. The man has a big heart and loves what he does. End of story. He's not everyone's cup of tea, so to speak, but he knows what he's doing and many people LOVE listening to him on the weekends.

I agree with wmgcbs, Big Joe does an excellent job with the format. Even if it's not what you enjoy listening to, after just a couple of breaks you can tell he knows and loves his oldies. My wife is a Big fan of 101.5...Number 1 on her presets...so I get alot of Big Joe Henry on the weekends. Again not my cup of tea but the man is really good at what he does...one of the best IMHO.

I count two late-60s entries in five hours: "Green River" (1969) and "Hello, I Love You" (1968).
The remainder of the songs played were from the 70s and 80s.

Point #1: I highly doubt that Big Joe is given any more latitude than other jocks to select his own music (including what he plays on his "request" shows).

Point #2: You should not make false statements about a radio station, it's personalities, or the music that it plays, especially when this information is so easily verifiable. Posts like these damage your credibility.

As someone with nearly 1000 posts here to date, I would hope that you would know better.
