Big John/On the Beach

Any ideas on where Big John's legendary "On the Beach" show will wind up? Y102.9? WRAL? I hope Y gets it, are they running a beach music-based show right now? Wouldn't really fit in with WRAL's 80s-today programming.

I haven't heard anything; I know Sunny 93.9 picked it up two years ago when WTRG died, but I don't know where it is now that Sunny is dead...

Isn't "On the Beach" the Charlie Brown show?
Fessa John has a show by a different name doesn't he?

Big John's "On the Beach", most likely, will end up on Y102-9. If Joe Wade was still at WRAL the show may have ended up there. John and CMG VP Phil Z are buds going way back. Phil will extend an offer to John.

Big John's show, when on WTRG/100.7, was Top 3 P25-54 and #1 W25-54. WTRG's signal, the 12th strongest FM in the U.S. (10,226 sq miles) got down east big. When his show went to WRSN, which doesn't penetrate down east like WTRG, the show's numbers suffered. Y102 barely covers the R-D market... but it has a loyal following. I doubt John will get the $25 per hour he got with Clear Channel.

Y102.9's Mike Mitchell has been consistently beating Sunny on Sunday afternoons.

I don't know if he can compete with TLC and C&C Music Factory, though!!??
