Just a note here to ask everyone for prayers for a fellow broadcaster at WTVY-FM. Big Mike Casey Mid-days at TVY is in the hospital in SICU....he will be undergoing open heart surgery Monday morning. It looks like triple and possible quadruple bypasses. This is definitely something that he was not hoping to have to go through....but at this point there is no other alternative. Please remember him in your prayers....he is a very important member of the TVY staff and truely loved and appreciated....We pray for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery....we love you Big Mike!!!!

Amie Pollard

He's got my prayers! Mikes one of the good guys in my book. I've worked with him in the past and known him for about 10 years now. Hope all goes well.

Jerome

Mike's a good guy.

My dad went through that and it is very tough. I already had a lot
of respect for him, but watching the recovery process gave me a
whole new level of respect for him.

They were making him walk the hall the next morning and it was
agonizing, it was upsetting to me.

Be well Mike. We'll say a prayer for ya.

Best of luck Big Mike. Steal me one of those sweet backless gowns!
That's Hot! Thinking about you......

Jerome has it right. He is one of the good guys. Tenacity will see him through this.
Hell I watched him keep TVY going almost singlehandedly in its darkest days.
The boys tough.

Mike is a nice guy. He deserves better friends than someone who would exploit his illness just to get some ratings. She is the Goober of the market. You remember Goober on Andy Griffith. When he came on the show, everything was downhill after. Nobody liked Goober. No radio person I know likes Goober Pollard. Get well Big Mike. Can't wait to hear the Pollard colonoscopy live on 955. Could we get streaming video of that.

Thats classy Sub......

sometimes it better to leave things unsaid.....I dont think Amie is trying for ratings by talking about Big Mike...They are letting the fans of Mike know what he is going through....The ones that care about Mikes condition already listen to the station, how many people are going "tune in" just because they heard that some DJ on some station is having surgury?

Show some class dude....

Get well soon Mike

>"sometimes it better to leave things unsaid"

why...because it is true

>"I dont think Amie is trying for ratings by talking about Big Mike"

lots of difference in talking about and broadcasting live from the hospital

>"how many people are going "tune in" just because they heard that some DJ on some station is having surgury?"

probably not many but it might help her keep the ones she has

Hope all is well with you soon Mike

I don't know Big Mike very well, I've met him a few times and he seemed like a great guy & I have heard nothing but great things about him ;D So I wish him nothing but the best ;D ;D Get well Mike ;)

First and foremost, Big Mike I am so happy to hear that you are doing so good! You and Miss Pam are still in my thoughts and prayers! Second, I can not believe the insensitive nerve of some of the people on this sight! Save your Amie bashing for some other time because this post is all about Mike Casey!

"lots of difference in talking about and broadcasting live from the hospital"

Now, that's just plain hilarious!!!

I have it on good authority Mike made it through triple byp surgery and is recovering nicely. Get well fast, Big Mike!

Just want to wish you well Big Mike get better my brother

Shady

Which hospital is he in? Would love to call him. My husband worked with him in Dothan. He is a great guy. And glad the recovery is going well.

Bassassassin I will have to agree with you on your statement "lots of difference in talking about and broadcasting live from the hospital" . It's one thing to call one of his family members like Elizabeth did but it's another to be un-classy and broadcast live from his bedside as he is trying to recover less than 24 hours from surgery. Geese come on let the poor guy rest.
I have witnessed Amie first hand dog Mike behind his back over and over again it was obvious what she was trying to do and that was to get ratings at Mike's expense which is wrong.

Mike is a great guy Professionaly and Pesonally.
Mike Get well soon looking forward to hearing you on the airwaves again.

BIG MIKE, I'm glad to hear that your surgery was successful and pray the same for your recovery. I hope you enjoy and take advantage of some much needed time away from that HELL HOLE of a radio station. Sorry that the time away is under the current circumstances. BIG MIKE you are one of the very few people left up there who is true to radio. Unlike some of your co-workers (referring to morecowbells post) and their Bedside Manners. BIG MIKE you are a wonderful person and everyone is lucky to have you in their lives! God Bless!
Take Care of Yourself Big Man!

Mike is a nice gentlemen and a good broadcaster. My late father went through this terrible surgery. I know what it's like to be a loved one of a heart patient. Get well Mike.

Just read this thread.
I remember a few years ago, while I was the PD of WTVY, Mike left us to take a job in Louisiana. The gig didn't work out, and a few months later, Mike called me to ask for a job again. I was happy to re-hire him.
Get well soon, Brotha!
