Big News for AM 830 WCRN

I have a new guess on the big announcement for AM 830 WCRN. The more I listened to the spots, it makes the most sense.

All of the song excerpts reference Boston and springtime. However the key song (hint) is Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline".

I believe they will be announcing that WCRN is the new radio home for the Boston Red Sox in Worcester. Seeing Clear Channel’s WTAG-AM has had them “forever” and positions the station as Worcester’s place to turn for sports play by play, this is a major coup for AM 830.

This should be huge for WCRN in getting them visibility, ratings, and new revenue.

FYI to DanStrassberg, Peter Blute lives in Shrewsbury.

Whatever it is, I doubt the news will live up to their hype. ::)

Unless they have Osama Bin Laden's head on a stick, which I highly doubt ..... ;D

Yes, I was being facetious about the forever comment and I missed your original post. I think you guessed it right out of the box.

no guesses. the good news in radio sales circles travels faster than mitt romney's moving truck on the mass pike.

David Z is right--see post above...helps the Sox fans in Metro West who have trouble picking up WRKO after dark. Maybe better signal than WTAG? 50,000 watts at night, their site says...
