does the site work? (I'll try it after this...) the last few times I went on it, it seems like it was hacked, and someone changed it to a restaurant review page.
it should work--he has the skyline of Boston and things like samples, cartoons, demos, press etc.
A Globe article is mentioned on the Press page (Bill Smith is quoted--I believe Smith used to be at WBOS --
originating the Blues On Sunday show--among other stations, and he does work for WRKO, or had done work...)
interesting--I read the Globe article on his press page and it mentioned his macular degeneration (he can't
read many things and has never driven, similar to a friend of mine who is legally blind). Howie used to talk
about having an "intern" named "Blindspot" and he also called him Pete. That must have been Pete Gustin...
I love Pete's stuff. The no holds barred and no personality is off limits (including the Big O himself) attitude is fantastic. I often wonder if he sleeps. Some of the stuff that is heard in the early morning relate to late events from the night before. I know Fox25 did a feature segment on him, which I think is up on his web site as well. The Globe article tells how he can't (or couldn't) get an agent because he is legally blind and can't see a "normal" printed script. A talent like Pete that can't get an agent is kind of hard to imagine.
thanks... I found the bit I wanted, too... the whole Smerlas needing to branch into other types of tailgate parties bit. I have a way to record streaming audio so it's now saved to a lovely MP3 file. I heard it yesterday when driving and damn near drove off the road laughing...
