Big signal move?

Fybush blurb:
>>Are you a fybush.com subscriber? If you are, then in just a few hours you'll know about a big signal move in Boston, new call letters in Rhode Island, all the scoop from the internal memo about a talent change in Philly, and exclusive pics of a busted pirate.

BIG signal move ???

680 to FM? and make AM a bird feeder?

Possibly 1030 to FM? and simulcast?

Besides that what would be BIG?

He sure has us guessing! The "big" part...?
If 1030 went to FM that would prob kill off 104.1 unless they LMA-ed an FM but who?

jamn isn't moving to 94.9 the translator which has been simulcasting wtag will now simulcast for whatever reason 94.5.

Assuming it is CBS....

CBS puts WBZ on 103.3 and moves AMP to 104.1 (keeps the 103) - also most likely new calls for 98.5 as WBZ-FM would go with a 1030 switch.

and in something that would make us radio geeks shudder perhaps in a few months make 1030 CBS Sports.

I am leaning towards Entercom killing off WAAF just to end paying music fees. ( but same logic holds with WBMX )

could entercom kill off one of the aaf's and bring back star to challenge hot?? only going more old school.

all interesting theories... WHUB-FM might be avail for 98.5

If so what does 98.5 run in overnights, JT the Brick...?

would make sense seeing as he did say he would be back on the air!!

I could see CBS sending the WBCN calls back from Charlotte and and then moving the HD channels to 98.5

Entercomm moving RKO to FM. I think WBZ moving to FM is still a couple of years off.

What in the world would 680 become if this were to happen? Wall-to-wall infomercials on a 50 kilowatt signal? Yikes.

any updates?? I don't subscribe to nerw!!

It's a SIGNAL move, not format move. The 103.7 translator in Saugus for 90.5 WSMA has applied to move to the Hancock building with 10 watts. Wonder if it could then be sold to relay a HD2?

That doesn't sound "big" to me. It would be unlike Fybush to hype minor news like that.

Yes that was it and he was saying maybe CC could buy it and put one of their HD2s on it as jlehmann
said. I did note before it was related to "Boston" not so much Worcester (the 94.9 in Tatnuck)...
I guess he also has stuff about the pirate raid in Brockton, etc. I do subscribe.

Chris Hall comment on fybush.com: "The one problem with the John Hancock used as a site for a translator as I found with 101.3 is the signal is so high for such low power it generally overshoots the city. The low power signal that is overshot into the suburbs is there but very thin. Am I also missing 2nd adjacent problems with WODS, especially if CBS continues its Pru move. It may be there but hardly a blockbuster, the entire time 101.3 was on the air it went unnoticed by most and gave WFNX a bad signal on both 101.7 and 101.3"

And Aaron points out Ent. would prob file to deny the move since it could affect their WVEI-FM 103.7 down in RI, a big part of EEI's south of Boston coverage.
