Country is back ;D This cowboy was quick to point out that the slip of KMPS and THE WOLF in Winter was just a lull in country music. Now that it is back yowzers the format is in great ole shape again 8) KMPS rockets to number one in May way ahead of any other station 25/54 and DA WOLF is up a whole bunch too especially in them there younger demos :eek:

Got to hand it again to Steve Rivers at KISS who had another damn fine month in May with a top five finish 18/34 and 25/54 :eek: That was his final trend at KISS and we all hope he is back in the saddle soon. I told ya he fixed that place, which I thought was headin for a format change just months ago. Rivers has the touch ain't no doubt about it. :D

KZOK and KISW rule the guys, Country rules the gals and KUBE, KISW and KISS rule 18-34 in the May trend yee haw. Looks like the AM stations and AC type stations like KRWM, KPLZ, KQMV, DA JACK, paid the price as Country rules the Seattle roost again in May :p This is one happy cowboy. Da Mariners look like they are over too. Betcha no station wants em now. Maybe DA TRUTH will take em to replace the Sonics :'(

Now that's funny! Hey, where are all the posts about KRWM, KPLZ, KQMV, KJAQ and the AM stations changing format based on a single trend? I wonder if the
CHR and Country stations will have good Spring and Summer books and the AC and AM stations will do better in Fall and Winter? Such a tough business to figure out.

AM seems to suffer a bit of a dip in the summer, but come fall it rebounds. With the upcoming election becoming more on peoples minds, it'll show a little bump for some AM stations. What they need to do is to get a hold on the listeners election time brings, and keep them from tuning away.
 
I too love how excited people get because of one month. Do those of you who believe that County is king in Seattle also really believe the KING-FM is #2 12+?? Take a look at the last month! The entire month looks a little fluky to me.
 
Now that is funny. I hadn't noticed KING-FM was number two in the market for May 12+. Don't think I have ever seen that.

Funny. I never usually check KING-FM numbers. #2 12+ for the month and top tier 25-54 for the month too. They need to frame the May trend extrap! KTTH should do the same. I just noticed they were the top AM in town. Mornings they were among the best along with Adam C. on KNND. KBKS look huge in older demos too? Country, KING. KTTH, KBKS and KNND your big winners. Who needs a four book average with these kind of trends? Every station is on top at least once a year even KING, KBKS, KNND and KTTH. Everyone makes money. (You see why I sell radio!)
 
So no one trusts the diary system and we're b%%ching about PPM? Sounds like the only system a station likes is the one that shows them #1 in every demo. Is that called "lying" or "sales?" (kidding...!)

Few people on this board know about PPM anyway. But your description sums it up well.
