Big Upgrade APP for WCVY

In today's daily digest, I see WCVY filed an application Monday to increase their power from 200 watts to 6 kw, directional with a 4-bay shivley from the same tower and same height they're currently at (roof of the school.)

As noted previously, WCVY is no longer share time, and has the frequency to itself 24/7. Hours currently not programmed by the school are being filled by RIPR.

It appears as though RIPR will gain one more FM signal in the state, although there will be a null in the direction of Providence to protect first-adjacent WDOM Providence.
 
Now that the "other shoe" has dropped....the RIPR connection with 91.5 makes a whole lot more sense.

RIPR had to have had some knowledge of (or even helped)...WCVY to move forward with this.

Even though the antenna is mounted on the roof of the school, that still leaves 91.5 with a Height Above Ground of 335 feet...and with 6,000 watts.

All in all...not a bad consolation prize for RIPR in the wake of failing to gain access to 87.7

Now....If only RIPR had the $ $ $ to get thier hands on 106.3......
