BIG UPS TO 93.7 MIKE FM

The other night I was on my way home on the train, I was listenning to 93.7 MIKE FM. I'm not a big fan of their station, however, I do listen to that station sometimes because, as they say, "We Play Everything"

The other night I heard these songs "Human" by Human League followed by "Welcome Back Kotter" They played that whole song. Followed by a few Classic Rock Music that I'm not familuare with.
Thursday night I heard "Right Stuff" by New Kids On The Block, that song has a good beat, I still like that song, it's ok. I was in 7th grade when that came out.
Last week while listenning to 93.7 MIKE FM, I also heard "Let Me Clear My Throat" by DJ Clue. They played the whole song that you don't normally hear on KISS nor Jamn, the version that he says "If You're a girl, and you have real finger nails, and you're going to school, make some noiiseeee" I havn't heard that version in long time. 93.7 also play "This is How We Do It" by Montel Jordan, they even play the version with the rap. Friday morning they played "Bust A Move" by Young MC another song that came out when I was in the 7th grade.

On the other hand, because they say "We Play Everything" they should consider playing more variety of todays AC (Example: Eagles New Music), Urban AC (Example: Angie Stone, and Whitney Houston), and New Country. That's the only thing that can make them better.
Otherwise, for me, they are ok.

Your thoughts on this station?

who is MIKE. is he related to JACK? and what does "mic-jack" have to do with a station that is automated with no dj?

a fictitious persona, "Cadillac Jack" Garrett, "a hard-living radio cowboy."

as usual with mainstream media, take the message and flip it 180 degrees, and you're a lot closer to the truth

How many years did you spend in the 7th grade?! Learn how to use the spellchecker feature before posting next time.

If you're going to post crap at least get the artist's name right.

We are off to see the wizzard . The wizzard of TAKE IT OUTSIDE .

Damn you guys are cold blooded. Give the man a break. This is a forum not english lit. As fo Mike fm, Entercom should take their heads out of weei's butt and flip it chr or chr rhythmic to cool off the Kiss 108 Juggernaut.

To all you jockless stations around here . If no one is at the station this can happen

I don't know about other jockless stations, but I don't think it is likely to happen at 93.7 WMKK because they are part of Entercom's Boston/Worcester cluster, which also includes WRKO, WEEI (AM), WVEI (AM), WAAF, and WKAF. There is probably one person on duty covering all six stations, even during the overnights. Also, isn't Entercom's space in the building on the third floor? I've never been inside the building, but I'd bet that only someone with a key can get into the elevators from the lobby late at night/overnight. Somebody who works for Entercom at Guest St can say for sure, though.

Our 93.1 Jack FM (much similar to Mike FM, owned by CBS) in LA is mainly jockless but they actually have interns working in the building, which they also have 2 other stations there aswell. I'm pretty sure it also applies to the Jack stations in Las Vegas, Chicago, etc.
As for Clear Channel... you think they could actually be burglarized? Think about it - in many markets, either their stations are running syndicated stuff or have no one on the air. CC might be in trouble.

KCBS-FM in LA has a lot more than just "interns working in the building." At least when I last visited a couple of years ago, there's a live board op executing the format 24/7, and a staff of writers most of the day as well keeping the liners fresh (the VO guy, Howard Cogan, is elsewhere in LA but "always on" via ISDN.) It shares the building with another station, KROQ, that's live 24/7, and there's security present 24/7 as well.

It was my understanding that WMKK has a 24/7 board-op, also. In any event, the Entercom facility at the New Balance building has tight security - you're not going to get into the building on a weekend or at night unless you have a reason to be there, and even if you get into the building, you need to get past several layers of keycard access to get to Entercom's floor and then into the studio cluster.

Correct on the board-op 24/7 (during the overnights, the board-op on 'AAF handles the Mike studios as well) Also correct on the tight security. Besides security guards planted at the front desk, there ARE several layers of key card checkpoints you need to get through to make it into the studios. Different employees have different access to the various areas on the 3rd floor at 20 Guest St.

While MIKE FM does play a wide variety of music, to my ears it is a wide variety of music that I don't enjoy.

@Wil, Karson, and DJBobo and anybody else who says bad things to me, I didn't ask for making fun of me. All I do is try to conversate in here without harassment

I agree with both Trock and Rapking.
But let's say thy will not change because they are doing well in their ratings? What ideas would you all have @Mccamp, Trock, Rapking, and anyone else, what ideas would you all have to make them better?
As I said before, I'm not a big fan of them, however, I do tune into to this station just to see what they are playing, sometimes they do have some good songs on, but some other songs, you tend to think "why in the world are they playing that"?
My idea, if they can not change, my idea is, play more NEW AC, NEW Urban AC, New Dance, New Country, and New Lovers Rock Reggae (That is everything)
How about you all?? Let's talk.
No more harassment, keep bad thoughts to yourself, or I suggest you see a Psychiatrist and get help!

I don't think I said anything "bad." I simply passed along the correct name of the artist, with a smile, in fact. :)

@Mccamp, how can 93.7 Mike FM Improve? as well as anyone else?
Mmmm....how can you improve...while your station says it plays everything, I hear constant repitition of music.
While I understand that's what radio is in a nutshell (repitition), playing some songs that are over thirty years old, what seems like every day seems excessive.
Just think about it for a minute....if you took the "Top 40" lists from the last 40 years and played every song from them, it would probably take a week before you played the same song again, and by doing that you are still playing "everything", and still playing the hits.
