Bigger Q is one step closer

I see upstate South Carolina's Wissle 100 has just filed for a license to cover for their signal change that will allow Q 100 to upgrade here.

I noticed Friday morning they were at lower power and it sounds like they may have changed something. It could be the weather making it sound like they changed something? I am waiting for the power increase. Q-100 is one of my favorite stations.
______________

I think they're testing the signal at 50% power right now.

For the first time, I can listen to Q while I'm at this computer in Gwinnett County. It does sound just slightly more powerful. Not much, but just a little more powerful. I'm guessing they did something Friday morning.

There is a new 4 bay antenna on the old channel 69 portion of the mast atop the Plaza. Must be the new Q100 antenna. Looks like it's not directional like the old antenna.....that means more Q100 in Gwinnett.
I have an overwhelming urge to ask......How will this effect Q100?

The new Q100 antenna is somewhat directional, parasitics and all, but not asdirectional as the old one bay. The antenna went up late last week.

Yeah, it went up Friday morning. Signal is better out this way, but it should be excellent signal when it doubles again. It stays in now as you drive through the heart of the county. That is where you can tell the biggest difference. I can tell a difference at home too. It's just enough to tell a difference on my Walkman. Q's signal should be about the same as WRAS or a little better than WRAS when the power increase is finished. Being higher up does make a difference in the suburbs, so I think they may have a better signal than WRAS in northern Atlanta's suburbs. Q has a great location and it is fun listening to Tracy while I'm at the computer.
______________

Anyone have any idea when the final process will take place officially??? I drove home tonight at 2AM from Decatur to Loganville. Sounds a lot clearer with less dead spots. Caught a few dead spots in Loganville but not nearly as much as I used to at this time of night. I can't wait for the final boost!

Good reception down Hwy 316, and Mall of Georgia area. Going out to Athens, signal is slightly stronger.

I will be curious to see if whether or not ratings increase with their morning show. Q needs to get on top of their mall marketing with this increased signal.
______________
