Biggest Change of the Year?

New topic to wrap up the year. Biggest change in Seattle radio in 2010??

New morning show on KMPS?
Bob Rivers show leaves KZOK?
KMTT morning show hire
Shakeup on KIRO Mornings Hersholt/Shannon gone
Kiro hires Groz
KISW fires Double R as BJ show plays music
KJR flips Christmas and then flips to?
KVI flips to Oldies
Movin goes CHR to take on KBKS, Jubel to mornings
Funky Monkey is now Genx
Ichabod launches Wild Boar Radio
Revenue goes back up after two years decline

I missed a bunch. Pretty active year in radio. My vote is for the last of the above. Nice to see radio making more money, let's hope it continues for all involved in radio broadcasting.

I would vote for the loss of Niehaus.

I agree Dave's loss hands down biggest radio story in this city in a long time... River's departure was news, but his return will most likely be a bigger story in 2011...

I give honorable mention to KXRX.net running shows from Marty Riemer & Double R...

I have to go with the passing of Dave Niehaus, though Hersholt & Shannon leaving KIRO is a good second.

How I see it....

The Bad Change: Niehaus passing away, Bob Rivers Gone From KZOK, Bob Liddle passing

The Good Change: KVI Returns To Oldies, KXRX.net, KING-FM going non-com

Ditto on Niehaus. The others are almost meaningless comparatively.

Have to agree on Niehaus. The changes I listed above while significant, pale in many ways compared to the passing of a broadcast legend. In that vein, I would say the second biggest change was the passing of Bob Blackburn early in the year. Though he left broadcasting sports years ago, he had a four decades of sports announcing in the northwest and was a familiar face on TV and Radio spots up until the end. Both legends and the radio voice of sports in the Northwest.

Hey Bong where do you get this "KING-FM goes non-commercial" thing? Did I miss sum-thing
