Bill Austin passes

I will say I hardly ever tuned into their morning show but always loved seeing them on ch 3 and later on ch 10. It is a sad week in phoenix radio to loose a legend like that. I always felt when he was doing the segments on the tv morning shows, he was that guy on the radio as was he that guy on sunday afternoon. RIP Bill you will be missed.

What a very sad day to learn about Bill Austin's passing! Bill was always funny and joking around! I don't think there was ever a time when he wasn't happy or laughing! I remember as a young kid, he was the weather man on tv on Channel 12 along with Patti Kirkpatrick and Kent Dana anchoring the news. It was sad a few months ago when he retired from radio after almost 20 years w/KEZ and with Beth! I know that Bill Austin will be making everyone up in heaven laugh and smile! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and everyone at KEZ radio. R.I.P. Bill

Most radio station employees feel as if they were kicked in the stomach when a popular person is fired or layed off. This transcends anything I've ever felt. Bill Austin was a guy that I never once heard anything bad about, not so much as an isolated incident. To this day, I think he was possibly the best TV weather man ever before going to KEZ. I remember when KNIX had a research department, and they were trying to figure out why Beth and Bill were so popular. They never did. It was simply the magic of good chemistry and everyone who listened to them knew it.
RIP Bill!

Classy thing by Clear Channel today with them having in memoriam billboards for Bill rotating on there electronic billboards. Saw 2 this evening on the 10.

Today while listening to the show on KEZ, I had tears welling up so many times that when I pulled into the parking lot at work, I had to take a moment to compose myself before going in. Wow, I don't think I ever cried so much for someone that I never met. Beth you are a remarkable woman and thank you for being with him until the very end. As you said the is morning, hearing is one of the last to go. Thank You for everything you did for him. I am sure he very much appreciated you being there until it was time to go.
