Very Sad Day Today............Former KEZ 99.9 BETH & BILL Radio Talk Show Host Bill Austin Died Today @ The Age Of 55. Reported By KNXV-TV 15 Today That He Passed Away Today. I Remember Him On Channel 12 When He Did The Weather For That Station. He Was A Funny Guy At Channel 12 , And At KEZ Radio. Sorry To See Him Go So Young. Channel 15 Didn't Say What He Died From. Well I Hope They Do A Tribute To Him On The Big 12 Even Though He Has Been Gone From The Station Along Time. Bill Austin (REST IN PEACE)......................................................

IIRC, he had cancer. I first heard about his death this afternoon on KTAR-FM and was stunned. I heard it again this evening on the KPHO-TV news. In both cases, the reports I heard were on stations competing with those Austin worked for, and in both cases, the reporters were generous in their praise for him, describing him as a genuinely nice guy. I remember watching him on KPNX and found him quite entertaining, and I generally favor a more serious approach to the weather.
