Bill Beamish WAVZ aircheck, 1965

Thanks for sharing that blast from the past! BB was a talented guy. The knock-knock and women driver jokes definitely wouldn't fly today. There were so many elements and the jock was part of everything, including so many live spots. I believe he was also on NYC's WMCA for a time. He did the weather on WNHC-TV8, too, back when very few weather presenters were meteorologists. I remember being up way past my bedtime and Bill was voicing a Channel 8 sign-off newscast off-camera with a news slide as a visual. He mentioned some nuclear test at Jackass Flats, Nevada and started cracking up in mid sentence. He bailed out and never finished the obviously live newscast... I probably would have done the same thing. Bill was also a record rep in the seventies.
