Bill Cunningham To Tape TV Talk Show Pilot

Tribune is developing a talk show hosted by WLW host Bill Cunningham that will not be political, but more along the lines of Jerry Springer's talk show. The show, which will be titled "Willie," is scheduled to debut on selected stations this summer. If successful, it could be picked up next winter. The initial trial episodes will be filmed next month at the same studio in Chicago where Bozo the Clown taped his old WGN-TV show.

So far Sean Compton has put Bill's local show on XM (no longer), given him Matt Drudge's timeslot and its 300+ affiliates, given him a TV pilot with Springer, and now a second TV pilot. Sean, if you love Willie so much, just have sex with him already.

Saw an episode of Willie's show last summer and it was awful. Willie claims he is a devout Christian but is going to host a show that's nothing more than a Jerry Springer knock off?

Clarification: He is a Roman Catholic and doesn't make a big deal of it. And he openly questions that church's stance on issues when he sees hypocrisies and conflicts with church doctrine. That said, I have to agree that the TV show sounds like an awful idea.

Yeah they are claiming that the show will be nothing like the trash that aired last year. Still....I watched each episode. I gave him five chances...he's not getting a sixth.
