Bill Dallman Named KARE Minneapolis GM

Prior to this Bill Dallman was with KOMO-TV and CBS Los Angeles as News Director prior to going to the Twin cities.

Tegna-owned NBC affiliate KARE Minneapolis has appointed Bill Dallman president and general manager, effective June 1. Dallman is replacing John Remes, who retired at the end of 2020. Carolyn Mungo, vice president and station manager of Tegna’s WFAA Dallas, will oversee KARE in addition to her current role until Dallman’s arrival.

Dallman joins KARE from KOMO Seattle, where he’s been news director since 2018. Previously, Dallman was vice president of news for KCBS-KCAL Los Angeles, where he led a 185-person team, producing 10 hours of live newscasts per day along with digital, mobile and social news efforts.

His tenure at KOMO was generally considered successful with decent ratings and a good ability to work around Sinclair’s conservative approach in a liberal market, skills that may help him in Twin Cities as well.
