It's OFFICIAL!!!!

Bill Lee is coming back to SF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ink is almost dry on the contract. Look for Bill to start the first of Jan.

Bill Lee Who? Quit putting these old burned out DJ's on a pedastal already! Whats so great about this guy? The format stinks and will go nowhere! Just like Bill Lee! Big Wow! If these people were as great as you seem to think then how is they are always out of work looking for another job? So stop it already!

KFRC should have left the format alone, but it was time for some changes, and my line up would have been, Chris Edwards (the real one) 5am till 10am, then middays "Lee Baby Sims" at 3 o"clock the "Bay Area Legend" King of Afternoon drive "John Mack Flanagan" then at 7pm Candi Chamberlin, Radio would have been great with these Legends!!! And of course Bob Harlow as General Manager,You could hear Etta James on KFRC with him at the helm, but no , Doug Harvill goes in and ruins everything, Could you Imagine turning on a Bay Area Station and hearing these people Ive mentioned? Im Cammy and Deaned out, and that includes Ron Parker!! Kenny in Concord I will continue to enjoy XM and Sirius!! Bobby Ocean sounded great today!! as usual

I agree. I am not that thrilled about (Broadway) Bill Lee coming back. I was kinda glad when he was let go from K-101. He was constantly laughing or chuckling after EVERY thing he said on the air. It was very irritating. I used to play a game. I'd count how many times he DID NOT chuckle. It was hard to get pass two times, in the time that I listened.

Now if MOViN hired people like John Mack Flanagan, Sue Hall, Lee Baby, Mark McKay, JoJo Kincaid, etc, then I would be excited.

Hopefully (Broadway) Bill Lee has changed and matured that he will make some sort of a difference.

(IMHO)

I agree with 1069_KIFR, bring back JoJo Kincaid for afternoon drive. I was his intern at Q-106 back in 87 and the playlist's "should be the same". The man has more focused energy than any jock on the planet!
Ask him about his Janet Jackson "tickle" ramp or crossovers with Chio.

Gee, you guys are tough. Bill Lee was brilliant at KFRC in the early 80s. Yes - I know, that was a long time ago. I only heard his KMEL show a couple of times, and was disappointed, and I managed to miss him completely at K-101...when was that? But let's give the guy a chance. At his worst, he's 1000% better than Cammy Blackstone, and a good number of the other morning shows cluttering the airwaves now. Though I liked Kincaid too, realistically, I don't see them hiring him back since CBS could have KEPT him (along with Katie Mason, apparently) from the Classic Hits format. Hearing John Mack Flanagan and some of the great 70s, 80s jocks is on my wish list too, cause I'm old as dirt. But Movin seems to be targeting a demographic that consists of people primarily in their 30s, and who are nostalgically remembering a lot of the late 80s and 90s music Movin is playing. So they're probably more likely to bring back jocks who were playing current hits during that time, NOT people who were already "Oldies" jocks in the 80s and 90s.

this is a GREAT hire! i told you all before that Mike Preston KNOWS the Bay! radio stations are shaking in their boots and wondering why they didn't snatch up such an OBVIOUSLY power free agent sooner!!! Good going! MOVIN' is the future. Get Used To It!

Why would you cut Jo Jo, when lee is obviously of a similiar yet actually more annoying sing song, trite dated jock? I would have kept Jo-Jo. Movin will not win, its a scam, that Burns is laughing all the way to the bank.

If any Bay Area programmers are shaking, it is with glee.

Re: BILL LEE TO MOVIN'!!!!! So What he's no DDR!

I'm sure that David will be happy to tell you all what happens ratings wise when 5 or more stations target 5 slightly different shades of grey! Nobody wins and the other four are just waiting for the next magic bullet that never comes!

No, it's not. Preston says he has not
hired Bill.

Gee - that explains why Bill hasn't shown up, and the station is still jock-less after...what...at least 3 months. I always take the big announcements and predictions on this board with a grain of salt - sometimes they seem to be wishful thinking on the part of the posters - like that new country station that always seems to be coming to replace Wild 94.9.

1069KIFR, I seriously doubt John Mack Flanagan, or Lee "Baby Sims" would "Fit In" to the
Movin Format!!!! Those two do Oldies best as far as Im concerned, that format at 99.7 is a joke, I predict it will fail miserably in a year or less!! John Mack Flanagan and Lee Baby Sims are a couple of my faves but i refuse to listen to that kind of Music, and i doubt they could enjoy playing that stuff!! CBS ought to fold up Movin and re unite the bay area with all the DJ s we all used to enjoy, before anymore time goes by!! This Bay Area has the most Bugled Up formats ive ever seen in my 53 years here in Concord.!!!! Somethings gotta give!!

I thought it was strange that there was no mention of Bill Lee in any of the radio trades regarding a movin deal, I have been checking daily thinking as soon as the ink drys Preston will send a press release but now its starting to make sense that its only wishful rumors, Does anybody know if Preston ard Lee are negoationg??? or is this just alot of hype that everyone would like to see happen.

Dear folks,

A friend just told me I'm getting some love on this board. Wanted to say THANK YOU!

Being on in the Bay Area was easily one of the best experiences of my career.

{sniffle, tear}

Dang, JoJo. We barely had a chance to enjoy you here before they pulled the plug.

Hopefully somebody around here will figure out that geezers like me still know how to use a radio and they'll get you back on the air here -- SOON!

I agree with the "Boss." KFRC was starting to sound pretty good with the expanded Classic Hits format after that REALLY dull bland soft-rock oldies experiment, and JoJo's high energy show had a lot to do with it. I know radio is a tough world, but there should be a law against pulling the plug on a talented jock like JoJo so soon after having him relocate here. At the very least, I hope CBS had to pay him a lot of money to NOT work. We would be lucky to have him back on the air here in the Bay Area again.
