Bill Lynch, CBS World News Roundup

Bill Lynch, who anchored the World News Roundup from 1985-1999, has passed.

He was laid off in a big round of cuts at CBS Radio News in 1999. I hadn't realized he was only in his mid-50s at the time.

At 2:00 in this Cami McCormick anchored newscast on Wednesday, Steve Kathan has a short obituary.

He joined CBS News as a correspondent in 1981. In 1985, he became anchor of CBS News Radio’s historic “World News Roundup,” and held the position until 1999. During that time, in 1995, the program was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.

Now, he is being remembered for his time behind the mic, as Bill Lynch has passed away.
