Bill Maher Guest Hosting Majority Report 8/15

Laura Flanders just mentioned this. Should be fun.

I know Don Imus has talked about "babysitting" Maher at WNBC... but has Maher ever done talk radio before?<P ID="signature">______________

In the first week or so of Air America, Maher was a guest on The Majority Report and I remember thinking he was better than any of the other hosts on the network. The other hosts have improved since then, but I still think he could be a success if he had his own radio show. I'm not sure if he'd really want one, though. Judging by all the Emmy nominations, he's probably making plenty of money with his once-a-week HBO show.

BTW, I believe there's a morning editor at WNBC named Bill Maher. I don't know if that's who Imus was talking about.

Bill Maher's FATHER was a news editor at WNBC when Imus was there. Bill was a kid and sometimes came to work with his father -- that's why Imus can say he "baby-sat" Bill. I worked upstairs at the old NBC Radio Network at the time. BTW, WNBC-AM no longer exists (NBC sold all its radio properties in 1987).

Sorry, sloppy contraction. I didn't mean to suggest WNBC still existed. "I believe there was...."
