Bill Minshall, KREK founder, passes away...

I'm in no way an old timer when it comes to Tulsa radio, having grown up in New Jersey listening to WMID in Atlantic City and WABC in New York City. However, when I saw this posted in today's edition of ShopTalk, from the TV Spy website, I had to pass it on. Bill Minshall, a Tulsa native, TU graduate and long time radio man who started as a DJ at KVOO and KRMG before founding KREK, has passes away at 83 in Gainesville, FL. The article in the Gainesville, FL Sun mainly focuses on his career in Florida, where he succeeded in launching a TV station in Gainesville when the networks said the market was too small to support a station.
