Bill Norman

I was listening to WNMB this morning and I noticed a little "bleed over" from WSPC in Albemarle in the background. I'm certain there is a remedy for this. What is uncertain is the idea of how long will this continue from Albemarle? Sure, it's great to hear an actual morning show again with new liners and voice overs throughout the day. But...sooner or later, someone has to have a marketing face with WNMB in time for the tourist season next year. Bill Norman provided that and then some and it will take someone highly motivated to upstart WNMB locally again.

I hope it's not true.

I would have thought people who had a stroke were working too hard. I suppose such a thing is possible even if you enjoy your work the way he did.

This latest development was on the Charlotte TV news tonight.

This crazy bitch will practically get away with murder, or euthanasia, depending on your viewpoint. Bill was irreversibly brain dead due to the stroke, and all she did was just complete what was going to eventually happen. They cremated Bill's body before the investigation revealed her involvement in his death, so they couldn't autopsy him for evidence required to charge her with anything more.

Thought you guys might like to see this. I heard the story on the local news, but did not realize who it involved until I read the story online. here's the link to the Sun News article.

I am a person who never believes in giving up on things. I have a close friend who last year suffered two strokes. In his case he is still here with us even thou he can't do everything he once could he does do pretty well. They were not sure that he would ever recover but like I said never say never and I thank God he made it throught it. As For Bill who knows, But one thing is certain this nurse can't be allowed to get away with this unless there are reasons I don't know about the situtaion seems pretty straight foward. I assume we will hear more information soon.

Negligent homicide should be the lesser of many charges against this "nurse". Those kind are out there everywhere among the good ones.

This is very unfortunate! It's almost unbelievable! This developing story will have legs and no one knows for sure where it will lead to. It's hard to find closure on a love one's passing when this is hanging over the family's head.
If it was an accident of overdosing, why wasn't a countermeasure type medicine administered? There are more questions than answers to this story!

I would not be surprised to see WNMB go up for sale. Bill's wife and daughter are wonderful ladies, but I don't think they have the passion for radio like Bill did.

What about WVCO? He brought back that station after it went off the air.

WNMB shows even an AM oldies station can work in the right market.

His voice always cracked me up. Saw a picture of him and he looked much younger than he sounded.

RIP

Myself and cousin Lee went to Myrtle Beach yesterday to pick up some equiment to bring back. On the way up Lee and I were talking about AM radio and Bill and how we were supose to have met him for lunch and I was supose to set in his Mustang and listen to real AM radio. It may seem odd but I was really looking foward to that. You really don't meet a lot of people today that can sell AM radio and make it work much less make it still sound good, Bill was one of those who could do all of that.

Yeah I follow WNMB on facebook. Talked to Bill's son on there one night recently, he said they plan to keep Bill's spirit alive by keeping that station the way it is, sticking to the formula, just the way Bill would have. He also said they plan to stay in "Stereo". Sounds like WNMB has a bright future and more power to them! Long live that great station!

The Sun News and the newspaper from where Mr. Norman used to have other stations both have articles saying the nurse has been indicted.

Really!?!??! I was wondering what the status of their investigation was the other day. Thanks for the info, Chimp.

I didn't click because these days if you look at too many Sun News articles they block you until the end of the month. I'll see the article when I go to a library (probably tomorrow) where all Sun News articles are free.

At least that was my experience with another McClatchy paper.

I got my bill for my Charlotte Observer and there was a huge increase. I called and demanded to know why. I was told it includes the web site. I could have opted out, said the person trying to imitate an American accent and hide the fact she's not from this country. I just assumed my bill would have both options. She changed the amount to what it was last year. I don't NEED the web site!

Oh, sure, they are all the time sending me to the web site because the game wasn't finished in time for "this edition", but for those I say the articles should be free and not count toward any limit.
