KING-TV did story on this...and it is heartbreaking. The new owners (who are going to have a tough go financially) clearly trying to save every buck they can; but it still comes across when you have a 30-ish talking head saying "we wish him well" butted up against the O'Mara talking head saying he's going to pursue another radio gig after holding this one for 22 years. Bill lived in a trailer behind KLKI, yet another symbol of his dedication and emotional bond with broadcasting.
Easy to see both sides of this ... wish there was an easy solution to make it win-win.
??? That station has been formated to demos that are 75 to dead any way .....how much money can they get from funeral homes and laxative stimulants anyway...hello new format :-\
Even KBRC has a much more listenable format for AM radio........ ;D
Was there major coverage in local newspapers, local radio too? Did KBRC/KAPS radio report the "big" event as well.....? C'mon I wanna see huge coverage here.... ???
