Bill O'Reilly rips Plain Dealer

On today's broadcast OReilly took the Plain Dealer, and TC Brown, to task regarding their take on a Columbus judge's (Connor) ruling on a child molester getting ZERO jailtime for repeatedly raping a child. ZERO jailtime. I'm for OReilly. We need minimum jail sentences in Ohio, and across the country, for child sex offenders.
______________

I'd kind of like to see Bill back on the air in Cleveland.

He used to be on 1300 for a spell, and would fit in quite well over at 1420.

Or if Salem would loosen up a bit at 1220, you could have a nice little block of say, O'Reilly, Dave Ramsey, and Dr. Laura from noon-8pm.

Salem has a similar set up in Pittsburgh, religious programs mornings, secular programming mid-days and afternoons, and religious in the evenings and overnights.

Would love to hear Boortz up here in Cleveland. Glad to see he'll be up beyond the Dayton market (on Cox's WHIO/1290). And he did do well for CC's upstart talker WPGB/104.7 against Rush on KDKA before WPGB mananged to poach Rush from ol' 1020. He is still in the market, IIRC, on WPTT/1360.

Boortz does well against both Beck and Rush, often beating one of the other in many markets.
______________

Although I lost some respect for him when he was outed in a lie by Al Franken a few months ago.

Franken had Boortz on his show via phone and asked him why he (Boortz) went on CNN and told an interviewer that "I asked Al Franken to sit in on my show, but he wouldn't because he can't screen the callers".

The segment went something like this:

Franken: "Neil, did you ever ask me to guest host your show?"

Boortz: "No, Al, I never did"

Franken: "So why did tell CNN that you did and that I was afraid of the callers?"

Boortz: "They probably made a mistake with the printed transcript of the show. Hey, you know how those things are"

Franken: "Neil, listen to this" FRanken then plays the audio aircheck from Boortz' CNN appearence where he told the interviewer "I asked Al Franken to sit in on my show, but he wouldn't because he can't screen the callers".

Franken: (at aircheck's conclusion) "So Neil, why did you say that?"

Boortz: "I told you Al, that they made a mistake with the transcript"

Franken: "No No, Neil. I just played you on audio directly from CNN. Did you hear it?"

Boortz: (squirming) Yes.

Franken: "So why did you say that"?

Boortz: (getting mad) "Look, I told you that CNN screwed up the transcript. (voice raising) I didn't come on this show to play 'gotcha' with you. Goodbye Al" (hangs up)

Franken: "G-bye, Neil. Don't lie next time"

Franken can be a wiseguy and I don't always agree with him, but that segment was priceless.

Yes, if those markets are named Atlanta, Gainesville, or College Station.
