Bill O'Reilly Sells Out WTTK 96.9 on WRKO 680

Seems that Bill O'Reilly sold out his Boston affiliate, WTKK 96.9 FM last Thursday afternoon when he appeared on Howie Carr's show on WRKO 680 AM with Howie's substitute host the vocally impaired Col. Hunt.

O'Reilly was on while 96.9 was broadcasting Michael Graham's show.
Seems that O'Reilly and Hunt know each other but you wonder if O'Reilly ever gave a thought to appearing on his Boston affiliate's direct competition.

Well, no surprises. As they say about the pols in Washington, 'if you want loyalty get a dog'. Same thing applies to the O'Reilly ilk who preach ethical values...except when there is a buck to be made plugging a show or a book.

Can we look forward to Howie appear with Egan and Braude in the near future to plug his cut and paste book on the Bulger brothers?

Sold out? Not ony are O'Reilly and Hunt colleagues at Fox, but Howie made an appearance on O'Reilly's show during the book promotion. Did Bill say anything negative about WTKK? Did he violate an exclusivity clause? If not, what is the issue?

Infadel may be correct but Greater Media cant be happy about it. It's not like it's a big company that wouldn't notice, it's more of a mom and pop deal ( compared to other radio corproations) headquartered right there in Boston. While you may be right in that they're colleagues at Fox, I cant see Macy being psyched that his wife was seen shopping at Gimbles!.

It is just another example of Bill O'Reilly putting his ego ahead of loyalty. Howie Carr appeared on FOX TELEVISION on O'Reilly's show and that is the big difference.

I think Greater Media stood with O'Reilly durning his phone sex and loofa scandal with his producer and that is the thanks they get.

Bill O'Reilly should have learned by now, ' be nice to the people on the way up because you are going to need them on the way down'.

Again, Peter Smyth and Paula O'Connor could not have been happy to hear the Blowveator -in - Chief on WRKO.

Didn't really hear it but BOR probably was there to sell his book and while his syndicator and WTKK prob. weren't that happy, he's willing to go on "other stations" to do it. He and Howie must have a bit of a mutual admiration society. BOR gave a promo blurb to Brothers Bulger.

Heard Hannity as a guest on Laura Ingraham show despite the fact that WTKK was no longer carrying Hannity (show went to WTTT).

There are some cable TV talk shows that are thinking nothing of not only mentioning but playing clips from
OTHER shows; today I saw Tucker Carlson on MSNBC critiquing shows on CNN, Fox News, etc., and playing clips from them. Kind of like what they do on Talk Soup or The Soup or whatever that E! show is...horrors, they're actually promoting the competition, in a way! Or maybe they're taking an opportunity to slam them...

You also could look at it this way: WRKO is promoting the host of a TV show on Fox News Channel (and shh,
don't mention he has a radio show too! On another station!)...

btw, I know Howie was kinda hard on Limbaugh during the "Talent on loan from Oxys"
controversy. Wonder why HC was never chosen to be a "guest host" for El Rushbo...?

Howie went on Rita Cosby's show to promote Brothers Bulger but later made fun of her for her
weight, etc.

J Severin just had Jim Braude on the air to discuss the Big Dig. There is a case of someone on 96.9 nationally bringing on a local 96.9 host.

Two worthless pieces of excrement; Bill O'Reilly and Howie Carr. It seems to have them both on only one dial position and timeslot would be a great service to the listeners.

Howie hard on Rush? that's a joke considering how much he stroked Rush over the years. There was just no way NOT come at Rush from the to condemnation lane for that scandal, if you supported him then you had no credibility since Rush has so obviously pissed away what little credibility he ever had. I dont fault him for his human frailty, too much money and too many people sucking up to you is an instant Junkie recipie. But if you're the pot dont bash the kettle for it's hue.
