Bill Plante, 84; Longtime CBS News White House Correspondent

Major loss to TV news. Wasn't he just doing stuff for CBS recently? May he RIP, and condolences to his colleagues, family and friends.

Agree with crainbebo. One of the best network reporters of all time. Today we get young journalism school students who just don't get it...(for the most part). Don't want to paint too broad of a brush. But many journalism students today would not ever understand the phrase "Don't want to paint too broad of a brush".

And Chris Plante, late mornings on WMAL-FM Washington and syndicated on many Cumulus conservative talk stations, is a stepson of Bill Plante.
