Bill Sharpe fired?

I have just gotten some breaking news at the James Island Corral. I have just learned that Bill Sharpe, the esteemed news anchor of Live 5 News, WCSC, may be fired. He will be replaced by an outsider from a smaller market.

People are ready to mutiny at Channel 5. 500 calls have been received in the last hour, asking to "Keep Sharpe!" and many say they will never watch them again.

There's no real reason why, only because of his annoyances. Almost 35 years of being on the local news doesn't give you job security in this economy.

No more "Look at this!", "Did you see that?", "Uh-oh" after every traffic report, saying "such and such MILL-ion" every time that happens, reading through sports reads, asking dumb questions of the reporters, and no more talk with Debi about whatever they feel like.

#1 WCSC goes down the drain.

April Fools! ;D

By the way I am glad that the Bill Sharpe being fired was an April Fools joke because now a days it gets hard to tell when something is real or not with the way radio and TV people are often let go at the drop of a hat or pushed from one job or station to another with little or no warning, or at least anything that often shows. Use to be if you had some talent or wanted to work hard or both or had been on the job for many years doing a good job your job was fairly stable, now it just means you have been lucky so far or willing to work cheaper than others in alot of cases. In Bill Sharpe's case it is good to still have a person and a face on TV that you feel like you know well.
