Let's see....
After Y-100 he signed on a radio station here in Miami called Hot 105. The year was 1985.
Then he crossed the street a year later and signed on another radio station called Power 96. It was a great success in Miami radio and he still consults it.

After consulting Russ Oasis in Miami on WXDJ and WRMA, Bill moved to LA to engineer changes at KLVE and KTNQ. He was also part of putting KSCA on in 1997 as a regional Mexican station. In 2001, he went to work for SBS as VP of Programming, leaving there two years ago. He currently consults a variety of stations including Power, a number of Cox stations, and several other Beasley facilities.

They made radio sound fun. and they are missed. Note to current PD's.. find a classic aircheck of the great talents listed in this post and learn. A dream... but.. could you vision this group (even if it was VT'd) on 93 MIA or on the Coast 8)

The note to PD's is one that could be read but it is likely to never be acted on. The days of truly FUN radio (No pun intended to the legendary WFUN) are for the most part long gone and radio as many who have known it from the 60's thru early to mid 80's will never see radio run like that again.
As for Y-100 back in the day..Yes, with out a doubt they were truly "The Amazing FM" and this is from somebody who was a competitor (96X & I95 FM)from 1975-1986 before I worked for Y-100 from 1988-1996. Tanner, Footy, Robert W., Kid Curry, Earl the Pearl, Mark in The Dark, The Late Don Cox & The Late Cramer were a group of people who worked so well together it showed. The creativity and talent they displayed was light years ahead and though stations came close, couldn't match what Y-100 had to offer.
I've voiced my opinion over the years on my feelings about the way radio is run today so I won't hop on the soap box again. There are a couple stations in South Florida that are still truly "Live And Local"...just not enough. It is...what it is.

As long as radio is in the hands of corporations and beancounters, don't expect great radio to return. We have deregulation to thank for this mess. Sadly, if you want to relive those great days, start listening to old airchecks. :-[musiconradio.com said:
