Billboard music show - PLJ

Anyone else listening to this and think, WTF am I listening too?

Some guy who sounds like he's broadcasting from a nuclear reactor, or a paper bag, judging by how bad his audio is. A guy named after a popular kids character who sounds like he's 20 years old. and a girl who doesn't sound that much older. This is why I hate nationally syndicated shows. You get people you've never heard of before, with questionable quality, broadcasting in major markets.

Don't they normally send Race Taylor out there to cover this? In past years, I think Rocky Allen broadcasted from there as well..at least we know what they are capable of in NY. Where are these guys out of?

Doing a bit more research..apparently this mess is called "The Bert Show". And syndicated in 100 stations across the nation. Apparently it's also replaced a few long time running local shows with this stuff.
Not quite my cup of tea.....hope they don't think of replacing anyone in NY with it...loosing the traffic guy to mckay was bad enough!

Yeah like Casey Kasem and Dick Clark. What amateurs.

that's a little different. I can listen to those two for hours :). Then you get shows like cousin brucie who take calls from across the country.
But this show that I heard tonight....I don't see the point of it. From what I Heard, the star of the show couldn't get a red carpet interview going for more than 5 seconds, and was thanked for bringing them 'Great Content". He also couldn't hear alot of the time. The rest of the broadcast seemed to be making sure listeners knew where to find them on social media sites. Not exactly the smooth Quality of a Casey Kasem show ;o)...

So people who are from your generation are OK. Those from the next generation are talentless idiots. Have I got it right?

no need to jump down my throat dude. I'm allowed to have an opinion.....you're the one who called them talentless idiots... I just called it a bit of a mess...
For all I know, it may be the greatest show in the world..
But from what I heard tonight, it's not something I would have syndicated in a major NY market. there wasn't that much content to keep me tuned in.

Yep...you're right. And you're the one who said they're why you "hate nationally syndicated shows." Just pointing out that not all fit the stereotype. Paul Harvey was syndicated too. His mistake was living in Chicago. Much smaller market than NYC.

Ahh, I see now......Point taken :)... probably should have phrased that better. I just find it interesting that if you're going to start rolling out a show to new markets, perhaps choosing a hectic, live event where nothing goes right on a good expectancy level, would not be the best show to choose. Your exposed audience has a short 'first impression' attention span these days :).
