I'm sure most here are fans of lots of retro Christmas songs in December. Billboard sure is! It dominates their December Hot 100 chart. I know I'm probably in the miniority on this (I do like Christmas music), but with 50% or more of the chart in retro-Christmas music mode, that doesn't leave much room for new artists to debut. THIS SPACE IS TAKEN. Artist that were rising on the chart in November are suddenly pushed down 10 position or more (even though popularity is rising) in order to make room for the RETURN of never ending Christmas loop. Maybe Billboard is trying to send a message: Best not to come out with your new song in December unless you can withstand the 4 weeks of retro Christmas bombardment. Maybe the Christmas songs should be given their own chart (with radio monitoring of the Christmas stations only) instead of stifling and strangling the Hot 100 one month out of the year.
