Billing Software for Contract Engineering?

I have been doing time-tracking and billing using Excel for a number of years. Now that I am doing more contract engineering work for more stations that system is becoming somewhat cumbersome. Anyone have a suggestion for software that will do this for me? I have some clients that are charged an hourly rate for work. other pay for a flat number of yours a week and anything over that number of hours are billed hourly. All clients are billed for parts and supplies for parts and supplies. And all clients are charged when I work remotely to resolve problems or change configuration.

Software that is free or open source is preferred.

That’s a lot to ask for free, might have to bite the cost and get QuickBooks (I am not associated to them or advertising for them) I just use their software. But if I run across anything I will let you know

Same here. I purchased a copy of Quickbooks several years ago for invoicing. It has been well worth the cost. I write it off as a legit business expense, along with a few other subscriptions.

what you are looking for does not exist. If you are going to be a professional you need to act, think and present yourself as a professional. As others have said, Quickbooks is the way to go for what we do.
