Bill's Records And Tapes

I used to hear spots for that place all the time. Are they still around? Also does anyone know if the other stories are true that I heard about the room in the back? I don't need to get into specifics here, however I've heard this story from several people.

Isn't there a Bill's Records and Tapes in Richardson on Spring Valley.....is that the same thing? Or am I mistaking.

They moved. See the "We've Moved!" headline on their site.

The new Bills is a bit smaller than the original location (now turned into some dang taqueria). I was over there last week and was still able to find an eclectic selection of music...

The good news is that Bill's is alive and well.

Agreed! Way back in my college years, my friends and I would occasionally take in a midnight movie at the Northwood Hills 4 (is that the right name?) next door to Bill's old location.

No trip was complete without first rifling through all of the albums, tapes, and posters.

The first time I went to Bill's, I was actually performing there--he had a Saturday or Sunday afternoon thing for Texas artists.

I completely flipped when I entered the place. I had thought "record stores" like his were all but dead and gone. And the man himself? Well, let's just say Bill's a walking compendium of every single band, every single player in the band, and every single song and album you could ever ask about.

Just one thing. If you ask him to find something, get ready to train for the Olympics, 'cause he's headin' for it at warp speed.

Let me plug my favorite record store, kind of in the same vein, huge, lots of CD's and LP's, and lots of collectables: Forever Young Records, in Grand Prairie (S. Hwy 360). I like Bill's but I prefer Forever Young for pricing and variety.

Sorry if I've been out of the loop but I thought Bill's Records closed down because I remember it use to be on Spring Valley in Richardson, so the store is now near Downtown? Glad to see Bill's is still going because a lot of these mom and pop record stores are shutting down, I haven't been to Bill's in years. Now about this backroom, what's up with that with having to get into too many details nobody's told me about that

My understanding was that if you were a "fresh-faced" teenage boy you could always get a really good deal at Bill's.

Yeah, but years of therapy thereafter. Just not a very good value. :-[

That's all I ever saw working there. That guy always creeped me out, esp in the days when I was 'fresh-faced' myself!!

Too much info!!!!
