Billy Bones?

Maybe he's talking about Moby? (Not the country music DJ from Atlanta, but the music DJ...)

It's a good thing we're in PPM world. Otherwise, can you imagine how many times they would say his name so listeners would remember it for the diaries?

Is it too soon to say they've hit a home run? I'm hooked. I'd be interested in seeing if WSM-FM (or even AM) ratings get a small bump from the older demo that may not care for him, but so far so good as far as I'm concerned. They make you want to run from the car to the office and are out on the streets with antics. I personally don't care for LB.

It's kind of like "reality radio," similar to all those shows on MTV and Bravo, and they're incredibly popular with the 20 & 30 somethings out there. The listeners latch on to these characters and identify with some of them. It's great radio, and for all those who worry about the future of the medium, this is what will keep it alive. For better or worse.

billy bones, i've heard this show on chr stations and THATS where it belongs,if it belongs anywhere..i don't think "His Act" will cut it with a Country Audience... maybe IF he changes his name to Billy Bob...

I'll say one thing. Bones and his team makes me REALLY appreciate the House Foundation.

Well at least CC is promoting this station on commercials. I would expect Crums to not do similar promotion on NASH-yawn-FM. I find it ironic that CC basically decided to follow the PPM logic of less talk and basnically driving Gerry House away to only end up chasing a younger audience that is the age group that is less likely to "tolerate" more talk and less music and giving them BB's. It's not that it is a bad thing, it just seems to have some potential for huge disaster. I understand this age group is where the ad buying is concentrated, so it makes sense, but will this really play to that demo?

This is an audience that loves to watch shows like Real Housewives and Single Mom. They love MTV, not because it plays music videos (which it doesn't), but because it shows people like them in real situations. If BB can duplicate that on that radio, and apparently he had in Austin, then it will work in country. You give them people they can identify with, from that same generation, interacting in real ways, then the audience will connect.
