Billy (Eggy) Egbert

I know this is a TV question but since I got no response when I posted the question on TV cities. I thought I would try here. During a Phillies broadcast they mentioned long time camerman Billy Egbert, in fact one of the pictures I took of him was from the old ED Hurst show on Ch 17 can be seen on the broadcast pioneers sight. I could not hear the audio, but I suspect he is going to retire. I would like to share some old photos with Billy from the old Steel Pier TV show from 1968. Can anyone suggest how I can get in touch with him and I am still wondering why he was mentioned on the telecast.

I was in Philadelphia last month and caught a Sunday afternoon Phillies game. Walking around Citizens Bank Park I spotted Eggy, still working the camera for the Phillies game. He was on camera 3 during my 4 years hosting Dancin' On Air at ch 17 and we had terrific times doing remotes down in Wildwood. In fact, after the game he was heading down the shore and I was heading to a flight back to LA. The Phillies won and Eggy and I had a few laughs about D.O.A. days...it was great seeing him again.

I had a conversation with Eggy once regarding his Steel Pier show days. As a little kid, I always thought the guy manning the camera on the roof getting the bikini shots on the beach or in the boats had the coolest job in the world...never thought I'd someday be working with him!
