Billy Greenwood new WSIX morning man

Nothing against Billy, but I think WANT will be taking 98's preset spot. Eh, I'll give it a listen. Although WSM-FM is sounding better and better to me.

How could I ever take offense to you switching your presets just because it's me heading to the morning show? :)

I'm thrilled for you, Billy. I've always enjoyed listening to you, I have great respect for you, and I wish you the best. You have a couple of very classy and talented people on your team as well. I know you guys will do great! WSIX made the best possible move by bringing you back here and tapping you for the morning gig, and I look forward to the first show!

Big98Billy -- Good luck to you on mornings. I look forward to it and as you're aware, many will point out, "he's no Gerry House." That's right, there is just one Gerry. But there's just one Billy Greenwood too.
I've enjoyed listening to you before and you'll have to get used to Karla.....oh, you already know her....and you're going to do it anyway. Good for you, she's good. May God Bless you all.

No one expects you to be Gerry.....just entertain us and we will listen.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan myself and Karla is way left of the country audience. I wish you luck though, its not easy being the guy after THE GUY.

I was just being dramatic about WANT taking their preset. You have done a great job Billy and when I listen to 98 it will be to check out your show. Personally, I've just never really connected with 98, the station itself, other than Gerry. I don't know if it's because I like the underdog or what. I too wish you luck and will be sure to give you a listen.

Wish You The Best Billy Greenwood And Know You Will Do One Heck Of A Job And Glad You Got It And I Am On The Air When You Are So Will Not Get To Hear You but Hey I Do Wish You The Best

i think they missed the mark, but, i will listen. i will openly give him a chance, but please for the love of God, come out swinging. when following a legend, you have to be better.
tony and kris, big d and bubba, rick marino, and yes, reuniting kim and dean all would have been on my short-list of house-sitters before greenwood, and they are already all here in town.
ok kieth kaufman, show us your programming magic, gerry can't hold your hands over there any more.
it's my belief that 2011 is going to be a huge ratings re-shuffle, much akin to the year after jack singed on. may the best men (and women) win

If I'm going to be 100% honest, I have to agree. Tubes really do sound better. I haven't been happy with processing since the mid to late 90's. Digital processing just doesn't have the same warmth.

Merry Christmas!

;D

I've been listening to Gerry for the better part of 20 years and I am quite pleased with Billy and Karla moving into mornings. I think they are a great fit and not too much of a "shock" to the system. Karla was hilarious with Gerry and Mike and she was just in and out on traffic breaks! I like Billy because he is talking to us and isn't reading off a script!

I like Rick Marino but the 95 Morning Show makes me think that they are reading off a script. (I noticed the 95 WSM website seems to be down this morning also)

It would have been easy (and probably fairly cheap) to move Big D and Bubba to mornings but I doubt a lot of regular Gerry listeners would have made that transition. I'm also glad we're getting Dean back for middays. When there is so much voice tracking happening, it shows that WSIX is willing to do what it takes to keep us listening. That's not to say that Dean won't pop up voice tracked in another city! :D

In the wake of Gerry leaving, I feel bad for Katie Bright. She was really finding her groove with Gerry and Mike in the last few months. Talk about having to walk into a tough situation after the departure of Duncan and Al and then have Gerry announce his retirement. I hope she ends up somewhere good out of all of this. I'm also not sure where Richard has gone in this either and it was great to hear more of him over the last year. I know that Chris said he would still be around on his last Saturday morning "Best of House". It's a shame there won't still be a Saturday morning "Best of House" where we could hear some of the older stuff (like Gerry's mom, for example) but I've listened to Chris for years also and I'm glad he is not "out in the cold"!

So, to end my rambling, I'm quite happy with the decision and I'm looking forward to hearing Billy and Karla.

Richard is leaving too? I interpreted all that to mean that he was still staying on to help Billy? wow. that sucks.
Katie was hot too. such a shame

He posted he'll still be doing the Bull in St. Louis. Don't know about other markets.

if he were smart, he'd be doing katie  re-hire the hottey! i missed my news today

I think Billy is already the best in the market for Country. WKDF has a wreck of a show and WSM is just painful to listen to. Billy should do fine although he is not House, but who is. I for one am now looking around online for a morning show because Billy is decent but no show in Nashville IMO is entertaining.

What is this "entertaining" that you speak of? ??? is that a new concept, you know, like branding a station "the wolf"? ;)
