on wednesday--I heard no mention of Billy's passing on WRKS, WBLS or other NYC FM stations including WAXQ! did I miss mentions of Billy? if he was not honored --- it's a disgrace! Jay
 
any stations mention Billy on the air, break format and play his music? probably not---- as stations just don't break format today. It's really pathetic and a disgrace!
 
A true pioneer who never got his due props, and for anyone who is aware of Billy because " Oh he played with the beatles" that was about the least impressive of all of his work, guy was a genius, straight up. Im amazed that no one has covered " Will it go round in a circle" in all these years.

Not only did we play "Nothing From Nothing" this morning, "Outa-Space" and "Space Race" were heard all morning long as music beds, and we had two separate Billy Preston trivia questions -- one relating to his film career for our Hollyweird Trivia, and one on "That's The Way God Planned It" (which we also played) for Big Jay Sorensen's World Famous Record Pig Trivia.The passing of an artist like Billy Preston should not go unremarked, and I'm glad that we had the chance to offer him the tribute he so richly deserved.
