Looking forward to rubbing shoulders with not only some former co-irkers, but some of the local greats who inspired me when I followed my dream of becoming a morning mouth! (That was before I knew about the pay, and the...everything else...lol)

See you all in September!

We're getting close to Saturday, September 26th, the date for the 2009 Binghamton Broadcasters Reunion.

The event is free and open to past and present Binghamton Broadcasters and friends.

Everyone who attends the Reunion this year will be given a souvenir DVD with Video Highlights of Binghamton Broadcasting.

Bob Joseph has been archiving over the air Binghamton video for some time now, and Bob Huckabone has a number of interviews and clips from his TV Talk Show.

Both Bob and Bob have volunteered to share and copy some of their video highlights with those attending the Reunion.

If you're planning on attending the reunion, please drop a note to [email protected], so we can get a handle on the head count.

Here's the schedule for the Reunion at the Binghamton Regency:

Optional Buffet at 530pm
Cocktail Hour and visiting 630pm (free and Cash Bar)
Program 8pm. (Free)

Choose one or all of the events above.

Those choosing to participate in the optional buffet should start thinking about sending payment as soon as possible. There will be a handful of walk-ups available for the buffet, but the Binghamton Regency needs a firm head count and payment prior to the event.

Cost of the buffet is $21.95, and payment and checks should be sent to It's Only Radio, PO Box 303, Endicott, NY 13760.

We've kept the costs of the Reunion under control, but if someone would like help to underwrite some of those expenses, you may do so anonymously or otherwise to It's Only Radio, PO Box 303, Endicott, NY 13760.

Check often here for updated details, the attendance list, a list of lost broadcasters and more.

There is also expanded information on the award winners for 2009, which include Glenn Pitcher of WHWK as Broadcaster of the Year, Living Legend Bill Flynn, the recipient of the special Achievement award Bob Joseph, and a special recognition award for the late Ron Shoemaker.

By the way, Jon Scaptura, who is on the reunion Steering Committee, is looking for someone to help him re-build the www.binghamtonradio.com website, which encountered server problems recently. Jon can be reached at [email protected]

The Broadcasters Reunion is a low-key, informal event .The Broadcasters Reunion is free and open to all current, former or retired Binghamton Broadcasters and friends. Sales, engineering, programming and office and support staff are welcome.

If you have a suggestion for someone who should be acknowledged for their broadcast efforts, please let us know by e-mail to [email protected].
