williams is not going to stop the younger demos from fleeing
the late evening newscasts. wasn't that the reason why the old
regime at 4 replaced him with shortsleeve few years ago?!
it's a good pr move for 4, but the hard facts are that
only 1 out of 6 11pm news viewers in boston(4,5 and 7) is
under 35 years old. meanwhile, fox25's news at 10 attracts
over 30% of 18-34 demo and growing fast. jack may take some
viewers away from 5 or 7, but he's not going to bring
in any younger demos which advertisers are looking for.
this can't be an answer to 4's longterm plan.
