While not "local", isn't JRL doing his "Into the 70's" syndicated show on 94.7?
I don't think that JRL's show is local, even though he has ads running with 94.7 Chicago in them. Here's the current line-up:
Monday thru Friday
6am to 10am: Brant Miller (Local)
10am to 3pm: Scott Shannon (Satellite)
3pm to 7pm: Greg Brown (Local)
7pm to 11pm: Dick Biondi (Local)
11pm to 6am: Scott Shannon (Satellite)
Saturday
6am to 7pm: Scott Shannon (Satellite)
7pm to Midnight: Danny Lake (Local: "Saturday Night Dance Party")
Midnight to 6am: Scott Shannon (Satellite)
Sunday
6am to 7pm: Scott Shannon (Satellite)
7pm to Midnight: John Records Landecker (Recorded in Chicago but is syndicated: "Into The 70s". He usually never mentions 94.7 or Chicago.)
Now, personally I HATE, HATE Scott Shannon and his satellite feed. Radio is meant to be local; that's what makes it personal. I think that 94.7 should add some more local personalities. Here's a list of who I'd like to see on the station (you can add your list or times):
1. Fred Winston: Still has it. Funniest person out there. When I met him in Nov. 2007, he was very humble, entertaining, and helpful. He sounded great on the BIG 89 REWIND.
2. Larry Lujack: At his NAB induction he said that he has one more gig left in him, and this would be the perfect place.
3. JRL: Expanded role.
That's just my opinion, though.
