I've been a fan of this station since it signed on, i love that it fills the niche need that is not met by the Vulcan.
does anyone know what, if any impact this net radio stations is making on birmingham? i know they host a ton of shows
and giveaway tickets all the time, but i'm curious as to what their impact on the FM stations in town are?

I've never heard it, myself, but I have seen several folks reference it online as an alternative to broadcast radio in general, not just The Vulcan. I too would be curious to see how well it's making inroads being an online-only station.

It has won Best Radio Station in Birmingham 2 years in a row from Birmingham Magazine so they must be doing something that people like.

The program director for this station also does the programming for all the rock oriented stations associated with internet radio's Got Radio site.

They sponsor programming on APT. Makes me wonder if they might be looking to pick up a HD-2 feed on APR. It would be a much better fit than eXPoNential Radio. Too bad there are probably no translators left to carry it in Birmingham, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, Auburn or Mobile... the cities with potential listeners.
