This is Hot 107.7's first book and while they had a respectable showing, they haven't done anything to put a serious dent into Kiss or Jamz. In fact, Kiss' numbers rose; Jamz was off slightly. Maybe once they figure out what they're going to do, then perhaps we will see a battle.

No doubt that moving to 100.5 hurt WRAX badly. They're seeing the kind of numbers WANZ had. But I think they'll rebound.

Cox, anytime you want to put WNCB out of its misery, go right ahead.<P ID="signature">______________

WUHT has 2 months of WRAX on it. They kept the same code instead of getting new coding. Which would have menat they would of had 2 0.0's for 2 of the trends. The X got 2 of WANZ's but if you look at the monthlies for WRAX 12+ WANZ's last trend was 0.* and WRAX was *. Still nothing near to what they were at 107.7<P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by gooberj on 06/07/05 02:54 AM.</FONT></P>

(Shoulders shrug) Thoses numbers don't surprise to me at all. It just goes to show that "playing it safe" isn't going to work for Hot 107.7. My post about 95.7 Jamz a few days ago just shows that they currently don't feel threatened by Hot 107.7 at all even though their down by 0.3 of a point. The only change I have seen occur in either of the Cox Urbans are their slogans. Jamz now goes by the slogan "Birmingham's #1 for Hip Hop and R&B" and Kiss "Tom Joyner in the Morning and Smooth R&B and Classic Soul All Day". So I will just reinterate what I said weeks ago, Hot 107.7 better jump on that weakness that Jamz has and attack. Also, Hot would still have a huge advantage over Jamz in the coverage area even though Jamz now is broadcasting from their new signal. Because people in Tuscaloosa, Anniston, and Gadsden still can't receive Jamz on their radios.

Since WENN-FM ratings are up and steady with their great gospel format do you think that they can sale it or will they change formats? I hope they will stick with gospel!

As the case with most Hallelujahs formats, they're like a football team on probation with a great won/loss record,so what? Looks good on paper, but can't make much money from it. Of course, national rep firms can bundle combo numbers and sell a market share percentage to some clients, but in the end the effectiveness of the product is diminished, and that misleading practice will cost the stations in the long run.

That must be the reason why I can no longer get 95.7. I did notice a weaker signal, over the past few weeks.

When WBHJ had their tower in Bibb County, the signal was very clear here in Selma. Since they moved, it is very weak now.
