BJ Day 1 on the Buzz... I mean the ROCK - total train wreck

Ready for your BJ?

So far sounds like the same show, took about 10 seconds for them to flub the grand opening intro, BJ starts yelling like a maniac at Double R, Top Shelf continuously cackling like a freak in the background, Double R smack talking, BJ keeps saying "The Buzz" and having to correct himself, has given out the Buzz's phone numbers about 3 times, mentioned Radio-info.com within about the first 3 minutes on the air, callers can't hear anything on hold, spent about a half hour trying to figure out which drops don't work, KISW email address is not set up, Double R sits down and breaks his chair, caller says "That laughing a**hole sucks!" ... pretty much just what you would expect - train wreck! And Top Shelf goes, "BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAaaa!!!"

Tried to catch a few minutes of the Adam C show on the End, sounded alright, but as with most train wrecks, I could not turn away for long, had to look back at BJ. Guess checking out Adam will have to wait.

New member of the show will be announced in 8am hour...

I wonder how much they are paying Steve to get in his 3 words an hour. Between Double RR's constant rambling, BJ yelling at him because of it, and Top Shelf's annoying hyena laugh, Steve just fades into the backround. If they claim he's a great addition, at least give him a chance to show it.

The station was buried one month ago. This isn't going to turn people away from the show, it just makes you wonder what kind of show prep was done in the four weeks leading up to today.

You know I understand it being a train wreck, first day at a new station, and I have tried to be fair to all of the shows here, and to entercom although I am serverly dissapointed in the whole "wolf" change over, and don't really care much for the rocks other programming. I was exicted that BJ would be back on the air, but personally I doubt I will be listening to BJ anymore, unless this whole lets Fire DoubleR on the air and be completely unprofesional about it, is fake then I think that BJ has shown himself to be very immature. I am waiting to find out more tommorow, because I can't belive someone would be this rude and heartless but if doubleR is truly gone, I can guarantee that I won't be listening to BJ anymore, and will have to break out my sattilite radio sigh.

Many people on this board, including yourself, can't either understand or handle the truth about radio in 2006.

Just keep on thinking of what radio should be in your world. Just don't pass it off as being the gospel.

Don't fret yet, the whole "Welcome aboard Steve and oh Double R you are fired" hour screams stunt. Either they're going to whip the audience up into a "SAVE DOUBLE R" frenzy and 'eventually' keep him 'by popular demand' or else he really is getting his own show as well. Either way it sounded far too staged to have been serious

Unless Ricker was in on the gag, there probably is something to it. Ricker indicated that after the show, Double R connected himself to a locker in the building, near B.J.'s office. He stated that they went head to head arguing after the show. I bet it is legitimate.

B.J. indicated toward the end of his show that he needed to bring in someone who would help him in the morning; Steve was a good choice. B.J. stated that Double R tried to separate himself from the B.J. Shea Experience, thus justifying the change in personnel. There probably was the expectation of having a three-man show, and he needed to have some way to part ways with him. Steve the Producer asked if the firing should have occurred toward the end of the week, citing the example of workers who "go postal" the next day after losing their jobs. (Good one, Steve.)

B.J. stated that he was unable to say anything to Steve until it happened. Whether this is a stage job or not is for B.J. and whoever else is on the inside to know, and for the rest of the listeners to wonder. Again, I don't think it was a stage job; it is a whole new ballgame in the mornings and B.J. needs someone who has been there to be a success at it.

Only time will tell what is up with all of this. I think his obsession with this site has more to do with him seeing if he can pull the right strings to cause some kind of meltdown on here. Lets be honest it seems to be working because I am not sure if anyone gets more play on here other than Bill Virgins column.

Well I have rarley heard BJ mention this board, that is what makes me think this is fake, that and the insane amount of graphical work on the the bjaday page. But that is not my point, if this is not staged, then it is more then wrong, if bj did or did not need a new producer is besides the point. Not even BJ would be this much of an ass, and fire someone on the air, this is not even right. If it is fake the question is, did Double R know.

I don't listen nor will I ever listen to BJ again, but can I ask one question? His first day on the air and this is the best radio they can come up with?
