HEAR, HEAR! Well said. I tried to stomach a little of the show yesterday too just because I like to follow Seattle radio history. I had the same reaction as you... their first show could have been something so much more. Instead, just lame BJ and his worn attempts at contrived controversy. Seems like a better producer fix would have been Roy Otis. <Tee Hee>

Brilliant. BJ comes out this morning and says it was all a joke. I can't believe this guy was hired to take over for stern... really? on your first day BJ? This is the best you could come up with?


Then we have morons who can't see through this thing and are getting upset enough to email BJ, email Blatherwatch..... Did you all believe the KING 5 space needle falling over news story too?

It seems the "bad radio" stench is flowing from studio to studio at Entercom as I briefly listened to the new morning crew on "The Wolf". Briefly as in I got in my truck, turned on the radio, took a sip of my Starbucks, backed out and BAM, hit the CD button. Took a whopping 30 seconds to smell that steaming pile!

In the infamous words of Robin Erickson "Honest to God, Honest To God, HONEST TO GOD"! That is some bad bad radio!

Long live Roy Otis!

I took a listen to Fitz as well and was not impressed...maybe it was "the titanic" type theme music they felt they had to use while reporting on the Coal Mining tragedy. IMO just a lame attempt to add that extra bit of sadness to an already sad ending to a story.

I guess on the bright spot it was better than Double RR'S comment on what must of been going through the mind of the lone survivor- "Dude man I am like just laying on a bunch of dead people". Gotta love the talent of a guy who can shut off the joking around mode and has the ability to sound serious on the radio during a tragedy like this. I'm anxious to hear what his 9/11 commentary sounded like.

You really believe BJ fired DoubleR on the air?

I don't even listen to the show, but you all need a reality check: it's entertainment, folks. Theater of the mind.

Yeah, another user in this forum. At least he doesn't have nine posts (soon to be 10) in less than 48 hours on this string alone.

Count how many times you come in here and posts per day and re-consider trying to tell others of their usage of this board.

And in the process, by receiving allllll those emails and phone calls, find out on the first day how many people were listening.


Sounds like a pretty fun idea, really. Oh, and don't forget... that it worked.

No kidding. I must admit I find this board rather amusing myself. BJ is a very smart man, and he knows how to make things work to his advantage -- even, or maybe especially, his detractors. I like it. I like it a lot. :)

I feel BJ is to radio what David Letterman(in his early days on "Late Night") has been to late night TV. A lot of people didn't like Letterman in those days, either. Like coffee, beer, & Letterman BJ is an aquired taste. It's all about opinion. I'm not a NASCAR or WWE fan, but I don't condemn those who are.<P ID="signature">______________
